Using SLC Compact Flash 8GB Memory

SLC Compact Flash memory cards are available in a range of different capacities. Compact Flash 101

Compact Flash, or CF, is a line of flash memory cards that are designed to be used in a variety of consumer and industrial products. They are used as an alternative to SD cards, and as flash memory products, they are able to save data without the need for a battery or power source. Compact Flash is such as reliable form of storage that it hasn’t changed much since its introduction in 1995. Every kind of Compact Flash card comes with 50-pin heads with female connectors that are attached to male connectors on the host device.

 

SLC Compact Flash 8GB Memory

Compact Flash is used in both consumer and industrial applications, so it is available in SLC and MLC formats. SLC Compact Flash uses single-level cell NAND flash technology, which means that each cell only stores one bit of data. This high-level storage solution reduces the risk of data loss that can occur when errors interrupt the write cycle. This kind of memory is usually preferred for industrial applications, in which data loss can be significantly problematic. SLC Compact Flash 8GB memory solutions are available for applications that require a specific amount of storage with SLC reliability.

 

Industrial Compact Flash Memory

In addition to SLC NAND flash memory, industrial grade Compact Flash has a number of other features. Industrial memory products are designed to tolerate high levels of shock and vibration that are common in industrial applications and can be used in environments with extreme temperatures or wide temperature differentials. SLC Compact Flash memory also features a controlled BOM, alleviating concerns that OEMs might have about experiencing in-the-field device failures triggered by unexpected parts changes in the memory card.
