A locked bill of materials, or locked BOM, ensures that no critical component of the microSD card will be changed by the supplier without advanced notification. This ensures that customers can place a final order of the existing card design. A new product number will be issued for any card when there is a critical design change, preventing misunderstandings that could lead to device failures.
