Our Approach to Production Run Testing

Here at Delkin, we take pride in developing industrial flash storage device designs that meet the needs of a competitive marketplace while withstanding a wide range of adverse environmental conditions. While our designs are second to none, and rigorous pre-production testing is in place, Delkin works closely with OEMs on production run testing to ensure product qualification in your host application, and nothing less than exceptional performance in the finished product.

The Importance of Production Run Testing

The design of every new product requires extensive pre-production testing. It is ideal for all potential drawbacks and defects to be identified and resolved early in the development cycle, before production begins. Testing during production is not intended to take the place of pre-production testing. Rather, production run testing is an additional safeguard that Delkin uses to ensure that the engineers and OEMs who rely on our flash storage solutions receive products that exceed their expectations and perform as promised.

The Types of Quality Assurance Tests Delkin Uses

Delkin has recently invested in state-of-the-art testing equipment. One of the first steps in the testing process is to perform Design Verification Testing (DVT). DVT also occurs when slight changes to the original designs are made. With DVT, the team takes a prototype and subjects it to rigorous tests to verify that it meets its listed specifications. Further testing is completed to ensure the product will work in the manner in which the customer will use it. Other steps in the testing process include the following:

  • Ongoing Reliability Testing – As the name suggests, this is a type of production run testing that is ongoing. Parts are checked for accuracy, reliability, and consistency as they come off the production line.
  • Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT) – HALT equipment is used to troubleshoot possible problems and test custom designs. By performing the HALT protocols in-house, Delkin is able to maintain consistently short production times.
