Answering Questions About Industrial Embedded USB Storage

Delkin Devices USB Embedded DriveIndustrial embedded USB storage, or eUSB, is a reliable solution for situations in which you need industrial grade storage with a small size. There are several advantages to choosing eUSB drives for small amounts of storage with limited physical space. Here are the answers to questions you may have about using industrial eUSB storage.

When is eUSB storage a good solution?

The eUSB drive is recommended for a range of industrial applications, thanks to its broad compatibility with most processors. It is ideal in situations when traditional HDD or SDD form factors cannot be accommodated. Different 10-pin headers in different stand-off heights and pitches are available to allow eUSBs to be easily added to different processor boards.

What are the technical specifications?

eUSB drives are available in multiple capacities, allowing you to select the right fit for your storage needs.

  • 128MB – 32GB capacity range
  • SLC flash (MLC not available)
  • -40 – 85 degrees C operating temperature
  • -50 – 100 degrees C storage temperature
  • 234 TBW
  • > 2 million MTBF (hours at 0 – 25 degrees C)
  • 32MB/s read and 30MB/s write speeds

Drives are also customizable and can include content loading, new custom connectors, and labeling.

Why choose an eUSB drive from Delkin?

Consistency of host compatibility is essential for embedded storage. Delkin is committed to providing a controlled BOM (bill of materials) for our eUSB drives, which means that the part number includes the flash chips controller, firmware revision, fixed/removable configuration, and connector. These critical parts will not be revised unless a new parts number is issued, and advanced EOL notifications are provided for any parts number that is being discontinued. We recognize the importance of life cycle management for industrial users and only discontinue components when absolutely necessary. As a result, you will get reliable embedded storage with the longest possible life cycle.
