All about SD Card Industrial Grade Solutions

SD card industrial grade solutions are favored by OEMs for their robust capacity, high endurance, and rugged embedded design. These cards are designed with a low pin number and a small form factor, allowing manufacturers to easily insert them into products with limited space available for data storage. Here’s a quick look at what developers can expect from Delkin’s SD card industrial grade line.

 

Compatibility

Delkin’s SD memory cards are designed to be compatible across a wide range of host devices. Specifically, SD cards are forwards-compatible with SD, SDHC, and SDXC formatted host devices. Note that secure digital extended capacity (SDXC) format is only compatible with SDXC formatted host devices. The secure digital high capacity (SDHC) format is compatible with both SDXC and SDHC formatted host devices.

 

Speed Classes

Delkin’s SD card industrial grade products are available in three main speed classifications. These are normal speed, high speed, and ultra high speed (UHS-I or UHS-II). These memory cards have exceptionally high theoretical speeds. However, note that the actual card speeds are dependent on variable factors, such as the host device, the organization of the data on the card, the specific operation, and the card configuration. The minimum sequential read speed for the single-level cell (SLC) flash memory card is 25MB/s. The minimum sequential write speed is 21MB/s.

 

Data Capacities

Delkin manufactures industrial grade SD memory cards in the D300 Series, D200 Series, and D200 Extended Life Cycle (ELC) Series. The data capacity range for this SLC product line is between 128MB and 32GB. SD cards have a capacity of up to 2GB, while SDHC cards have a capacity range of 4GB to 32GB. Additionally, OEM developers can count on a reliable data retention time period of up to 10 years.
